About Liberty Missions
What We Are About
Here at Liberty, we believe that a church is not measured by its seating capacity, but by its sending capacity. We are very excited about what God is doing in missions and in the life of our church, and our desire is to send out missionaries to reach the world for Christ. Our prayer is that you will look around and ask God where He is sending you to change lives, communities, and the world. Click here to visit the Missions blog.

We will partner with Sus Hijos (His Children) as we minister to orphaned children, build a home for a family who has no home, feed the homeless, feed a community, and serve the missionary families residing there. We will stay in a mission house, our home base of operations, where we can rest, reflect, and pray together in between our community ministry projects. Don’t let not speaking Spanish or uncertainty of raising the money be a deterrent.

Who we work with
In September of 1999, Liberty voted to adopt an African people group. At the time there was only one known believer out of 1.5 million people. Today, through the efforts of our missionaries, there have been over 150 baptized believers from this Muslim people group. Liberty continues to work with our missionaries to supply people, trips, and stateside mobilization to help plant churches among this people group.
In 2001, Liberty joined forces with missionaries living among an African people group to help plant churches. Since that time we have seen numerous individuals and families come to know Christ with an extensive outreach among our people group. In addition to financial support, we take trips to help with strategies developed by the missionaries and mobilize other churches around the country to join us in planting churches among these Muslim people.
North East Africa Partnership
A couple from our church is being commissioned as missionaries to this region, we will be working on this partnership and trips throughout the new year.
The Navajo tribe of Gallup, New Mexico, is an amazing people group. While this group has access to the gospel, only about 3% of the Navajo’s are considered Christian. The Navajo people worship over 46 different Gods. Each year we work with missionaries among the Navajo through short term trips seeking to help plant churches.
El Salvador Partnership
Kurt Ackermann, who was sent out from Liberty is currently serving in El Salvador.
Baltimore Church Plant
Phil Gifford is planting a church in Baltimore. This is a new church plant that will seek to penetrate this city with the gospel. In addition to financial assistance plans are in the works to see how we can further help this new church take the gospel to the people of Baltimore.
Fairfax Church Plant
Impact Church is a church that is centered & sent on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We want to change the world by making disciples who make disciples that will plant churches that will plant churches until all the nations have heard that Jesus saves! We believe that if God revives His Church in the Washington, D.C., area that it will require the attention of the whole world.
Adopt a Community
One of the most important things to Liberty Baptist Church is to reach the surrounding area by sharing the love of Christ. Adopt a Community is Liberty’s local ministry to do that very thing. Through this ministry, Connect Groups are encouraged to adopt geographical locations to Pray with them, Engage in local ministries specific to each community, and to Go make disciples by initiating a Community Group for the people in their location.
Disaster relief provides a wide range of services. In the event of a disaster such as a storm, flood, or other event, these volunteers do clean up, feed people, clear trees, clean out homes, do damage assessments, and more.
This team seeks to share the Gospel with and minister to those that are incarcerated. Each month, materials are sent out to prisons around the country. Volunteers have the opportunity to be a part of weekly Bible studies held in the jail.
